FACTS AND
FALLACIES OF EVERYDAY THINGS THAT ROBROB8 THINKS YOU SHOULD KNOW
Sir
Isaac Newton is the man that is credited with discovering the "Law of
Gravity".
He discovered that gravity is a force that
pulls everything, heavier than air, to the ground. Commonly, he is
imagined sitting under an apple tree when an apple pulls free of it's
branch.
The apple hits him
on the head and he comes to the sudden realization of the Law of
Gravity.
Of course, that story is all made up and
although Sir Newton probably did experiment after experiment to find out
what fell and what rose up Robrob8 is quite sure that he got it all
wrong.
"Bass ackwards" is the appropriate term, I
think. Gravity does not pull things down to the ground GRAVITY PUSHES
DOWN.
Now, think carefully. Gravity is a force
that pushes down. Items that fall from the sky drop at an increasing
speed because of the increasing momentum pushing down upon them.
