I've been taking screen shots of the error messages I've been getting. Should've been doing this all along.
I did find that one of the instability issues I had with zip files and Windows Explorer crashing was due to the use of ZipGenius. Even hovering over a zip file caused Explorer to crash most of the time. Zip files were incredibly hard to send to the trash. Uninstalling ZipGenius and installing WinZip took care of that problem sure enough.
