Windows Update BSD Crashes After Install KB973879

If you are having difficulties with a recent Windows Update, notable causing the Blue Screen of Death to appear at bootup, you need to uninstall the file KB973879.
Boot into safe mode (Press the F8 key until you get the Windows boot menu to appear).
Do that through the control panel> programs and features; and on the left hand menu click on the “Show installed updates” and uninstall KB973879
Got rid of the problem for me!

Anyone else having issues with the latest Windows updates that are automatically downloaded and installed???

I don’t know yet exactly which update is causing the Blue Screen of Death to appear at boot up, but it isn’t the latest HP updates for my HP DV7 laptop but I might just try installing one at a time to see what gives.
Let me know if you’re having troubles too.
